The 5 Best Skiing Destinations in North America

North America is home to some of the world’s best ski resorts. Some of these ski destinations are known for their premier ski runs, world-class lodging and family-friendly activities. Here are five of the best places to go skiing in North America.

Park City Mountain Resort

Located near Salt Lake City, Utah, the Park City Mountain Resort includes ski runs that were used for the 2002 Winter Olympics. Runs catering to beginner, intermediate and expert skiers make up a large part of the resort. The ski and snowboard school provides lessons that can be tailored to each skier’s level. Sixteen chairlifts and four gondolas are able to take skiers to the top of their ski runs.

Jackson Hole Mountain Resort

Wyoming’s Jackson Hole Mountain Resort is made up of two mountains named Après Vous and Rendezvous. The resort also features more than 3,000 acres of backcountry skiing areas. The two double chairlift and one fixed grip triple chairlift system are able to transport skiers quickly up the mountains. Guests can also ride the Big Red Aerial Tram and be taken up more than 4,000 feet in just nine minutes. Adventurous skiers and snowboarders can visit the resort’s Burton Stash Parks to try riding along some unique apparatuses. Don’t be intimidated by the remoteness of the destination! If your budget allows for it, consider flying out to Jackson Hole Airport and doing ski rental, rather than packing up for a large road trip.
